When I was a child, an ordinary basketball game turned into an encounter with my greatest fear. On the last day of sixth grade, during a game, a friend accidentally struck me in the mouth with his head. Instinctive panic washed over me as I felt sharp pain and the tormenting thought: ”What if I lose my teeth?” I was terrified—not just because of the pain, but because of what losing my upper teeth would do to my self-confidence and my relationships with friends and family.

Over twenty-two years later, in September 2022, I founded Dental Hero. To date, I have helped more than 2000 patients replace their fears with beautiful smiles. Every time I meet a patient who feels anxious about the dentist, I recognise that same boy in the mirror— insecure, scared, worried.
